My very first Sackai Bag

Before I continue, I think I should inform you all that this posting is from my own opinion in other word this is not a sponsored post. I bought the bag myself and wish to make my own review. I also posted in Indonesian on my other blog.
Okay here goes…

Yes, I know I said I try to learn to use smaller bag but during the recent event, which I was going out all day long, and now it seems rain always pouring down on me… excuses, excuses, excuses… In short, I need a bigger bag to bring my raincoat, charger, handphones, wallet, notes and perhaps next time my notebook… So, again I browsed around the net and of course asking around fellow bloggers and friends. One of them mentioned to me Sackai Bag.

When I first ask the price I was a bit taken aback because exceeded my budget and that before I bought 2 new bags from another local product on my previous post. So, my budget running thin…at that time…
I appreciate the politeness of the person behind the IG account. I am pretty sure she/he has dealt with so many people only asking about the price then just stop there. And he/she still answered me politely when I was asking again about their new product. When I saw their new product, I couldn’t resist and asked them again then finally made up my mind to buy it. It is a total coincidence that I was about to attend an event for blogger. So I sort of beg them to send the bag as soon as possible and they complied. Therefore, I was able to wear the bag happily during blogger event and when I met up with my friend.

 

I got curious and contacted them again to get more info before I write this post. I asked the meaning of Sackai bag, and it turn out is taken from the name of her grandfather: Mr. Sakkai. She change the name a bit and use the word Sac as in French means bag. Though there were many articles about Sackai Bags from major news sites, they are kind enough to give me their company profile to be quoted and to be learned.
Learn? Yes, we all could learn from those people who leave their comfort zone and start their business. That yeah, probably you have the talent and passion to do it all. But do you have the courage, the ability to handle the financial matter related to your on going business, and of course the will to keep the business going alive. Presi Mandari is another example of how everything start from your hobby, and passionate about it then started to sell your own creations. With her graphic designer husband Toto Prastowo, started small but full of passion, and hope for their business. At first, they only worked with one tailor, handling a small number of orders here and there. Four years later, today Sackai Bags is a burgeoning home-based business that employs six people. The brand is selling hundreds of products monthly online and you can find them at Alun Alun Grand Indonesia, Livingroom fashion outlet in Kemang, South Jakarta, and a prominent art space and gallery, Salihara.

So, are you still having doubt with local products? Don’t be! I have used few of them and so far happy with their quality and their friendly communication.

My feedback to the owner about this particular backpack, well this is more my concern being bus and local transportation passengers. The zipper on the side and the on the top should at least as protected as the front compartment. I know that even if we use padlock on the zipper if the pickpockets wish to steal something, they will find a way. But I still feel a lot safer if the other zipper are the same like the one on the front compartment.

If you bought the bag, then you will notice little note for product care. You want your Sackai Bags to look awesome always, right? This bag made from non waterproof canvas. However, the inside part is water resistant so you have nothing to worry if you get splash a bit of water.
