My very first ripped jeans combine with top by #BAJUBEDA

To get my writing inspiration about fashion for women ages 40-ish something, I joined this group on Facebook. We shares #OOTD photos, exchanging tips and sometimes ask for other’s opinion. It’s fun actually, seeing women across the universe sharing tips and their outfit. It’s a bit hard for me to find this kind of community in here. Once I have this placement article on my other blog about dressing for mature women. One of the reader said that she or probably he won’t be thinking about outfit too much when reaching that certain age. As if when we passed our twenties or thirties we are no longer allowed to dress up.

Anyway, after several outfit photos I posted the above photo to the group. And one of the reaction said that she has no idea what’s so great about ripped jeans and wish it will go away soon. And I was sort of noooo, I just bought that one for the very first time.

When ripped jeans trend back to the fashion world, I was a bit hesitate to get one. I meant, ripped jeans even more expensive than just regular jeans. And why I should pay more for something that seems already…well… ripped? And to think about DIY ripped jeans to my own old jeans, I couldn’t bring my heart and mind to do that (LOL). I am not really into the one with big hole on the knee. And not really like the one with shred here and there. But I really like the one with scrape on the thigh of those jeans. And well, like Indonesian people like to say, find a perfect clothes like trying to find your soulmate. And the one that I finally bought, is actually shred here and there. But I just like it and decide to get that one. Or is it mine should be called distressed jeans? CONFUSE NOW.

I also read that 40-ish should avoid any type of ripped jeans at any cost and just leave it to the younger people.

That maybe true, but I think when people decide to wear any kind of outfit is sort of their fashion statement. They feel comfortable with it and therefore confidence enough to show it to the world. Whether other people like it or not, is not their problem. Just like I understand why some people don’t like this trend and true, this probably will go away soon. Which is why I won’t be buying too many of ripped jeans or perhaps I just being stingy 🙂

Here I gathered some interesting articles about ripped and distressed jeans :

sepakat dengan paragraf penutupnya kak. kalo udah suka dengan model tertentu, yang penting sopan (menurut saya), udah pake aja. terserah orang suka atau enggak.
